RAINBOW MOUNTAIN & RED VALLEY FULL DAY
Rainbow Mountain + Red Valley
We start at Cusco between 03:30 to 04:00a.m. in the morning. We’ll head south to the town of Pitumarca via Urcos on a paved road. The ride there will take 2 hours and this is where we will have our breakfast. After this, we will drive for one hour more past various local communities, arriving to Hanchipata-Quesuno. This is where we will start our trek (4600masl). This area has a view of the snow-capped mount of Ausangate and Puca Puncho. There are also many lagoons, llamas, and alpacas to see. The hike will take approximately 2 hours until we reach Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain 5200masl). Our guide will provide information about the mountain’s natural formation. After this, we will continue with the hike by the RED VALLEY where the views will be much beautiful than the hike to the rainbow mountain and is not visited for many tourists, this hike will take almost 3 hours, we arrive to the restaurant and have our buffet lunch, finally we will take transport and we will be back to Cusco at 17:00hrs.
NOTE: In case if you don´t want to hike by the red valley you will descend for the same way that you climb to the Rainbow mountain and you will arrive to the restaurant. The price will be US$40.00
IMPORTANT: The Red Valley have amazing views and is less crowded than the Rainbow mountain.
