Machu Picchu by train / 2 days 1 night

You will be picked up from your hotel at 10:00 and we drive to Ollantaytambo train station situated in the Sacred Valley, along the way you will see beautiful landscapes, such as snow-capped mountains, farms, and corn before arriving to the traditional Inca town. There you will catch your train to Aguas Calientes at 12:55. The train takes just under two hours, at your arrival to the train station in Aguas calientes someone from the hostal will be waiting for you and and will transfer to the hostal, if you want you can to relax to the thermal baths. In the night our guide will meet you at your hostal and will give you a briefing for Machu Picchu so you can be ready for the next day.

Note: If you want we can book the train at 15:23 or 19:00 (With extra payment because there are more expensive) and you can have more time to explore and visit this impressive inca alive citadel of Ollantaytambo as well you can visit one of the “Picanterias” and try the delicious “picante,” a mix of beans and fresh corn with a big glass or “caporal” of chicha (ferment corn with a little bit of alcohol on it).

Day 2 Machu picchu – Cusco

For this amazing day we have two options we can start to walk very early in the morning or you can take the bus to Machupicchu, if you go very early in the morning you can see the sunrise. This hike will take almost two hours. The bus ride up to Machu Picchu is optional and costs US$15 each way. The first bus departs at 05:30.

At your arrival to inca citadel you will meet with our guide and with the rest of the group and you will start the guided tour for almost two hours, then you will have the rest of the day to explore the inca citadel. In the afternoon you will return to Aguas Calientes you can walk or you can take the bus, at your arrival to Aguas calientes you can have some lunch by yourself and then you need to go yo the train station, try to be 30 minutes prior to your train’s departure, we can book the train at 18:20 or 21:50 depending of the availability, this journey will take 1 hour 50 minutes, at your arrival to the train station in Ollantaytambo someone will be waiting with your name on a sheet of paper. You will return to Cusco and be dropped off at Regocijo square.

Optional Huayna Picchu entrance fee: This is US$20.00 in addition to the cost of the entry to Machu Picchu. Ask about availability when you book the tour.

IMPORNTANT: We recommend you to book the tour in advance because we can book the return train to Cusco at 18:20 instead than 21:50, most of the travellers book the train at 18:20 because you can arrive to Cusco at 22:00 but if we buy the last train at 21:50 you will arrive to Cusco at 01:30. Remember this train at 18:20 can sold out very fast because is good time and cheap.
