ITINERARY:
You will be picked up at the reception between 06:30 to 06:45.
CHINCHERO EXCURSION:
Chinchero is famous for its archaeological remains and traditional market, as well as its Inca terracing. It also famous for its handmade textiles.
Once the tour concludes in Chincheros.
SALT MINES
Since pre-Inca times, salt has been obtained in Maras by evaporating salty water using the sun, leaving the salt behind.. The salty water arrives via a nearby subterranean stream. There are thousands of salt pools in the mines and when light is reflected there the effect is quite stunning.
MORAY
The Inca green-house of Moray is spectacular!! This tour will take you to the magnificent series of circular terraces that were once used by the Incas to experiment with crops.
OLLANTAYTAMBO:
This is almost the last ancient town still in our society. It is surrounded by different “Apus” (gods) who protect the awe-inspiring complexes of Inca terraces that were used for religious and agricultural purposes .
Don’t miss the Temple of the Sun and the Ñusta’s bath. Manco Inca used this complex as a fortress during the Spanish conquest.
PISAC RUINS:
After a trip to the market we’ll visit the impressive ruins that formed an ancient citadel and an important agricultural center. Of special note is the ‘Intihuatana,’ or Inca sundial as well we will visit the lower part of the complex where the agricultural area and the largest pre-Hispanic cemetery in the Americas.
PISAC MARKET:
Pisac is famous for its Andean market where you can buy all kind of souvenirs for good prices is totally recommended to try the “empanadas” (salty pastries) with cheese with basil bites on it or the chicken option! Also don’t miss the artesanal factories where the artists work the silver.
we will make our way back to Cusco. This will be an approximate drive of 2 hours and we expect to get back to Cusco at 18.30 (6:30pm). You will be dropped off near Regocijo square.
